The Porto Palácio Congress Hotel & Spa, recently elected a member of “The Leading Hotels of the World”, is specifically geared towards business and leisure tourism, meeting strictest quality standards. Situated in the heart of Oporto, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Porto Palácio Congress Hotel & Spa has now been refurbished and expanded and its surroundings have been completely renovated. As part of the improvements the public areas have been redecorated and the rooms have been fully renovated keeping in touch with new concepts of comfort and fitted with cutting-edge technology equipment. Dining in the hotel restaurant guests are invited to try the local dishes, meticulously prepared by the Head Chef of the Le Coin gourmet grill Restaurant, Hélio Loureiro, with various awards for local and international cuisine. They can enjoy the Nautilus Bar, with its relaxing and informal atmosphere and, to complete the guests’ sense of well-being, there is also a modern spa. These amenities are complemented by an innovative gastronomic space where they can opt for typical Italian cuisine, Japanese, light and also a cafeteria. The Porto Palácio Congress Hotel & Spa complex includes a Conference Centre. Opened quite recently, it has a capacity for 600 people and it equipped with the latest technology in terms of audiovisuals, sound and image, with a total of 11 meeting rooms. The exterior area of the Hotel has been subject to a number of refurbishments. An artwork by the well-known Portuguese sculptor, Pedro Cabrita Reis, has been erected. The significance of this work within the Contemporary Art circuit has made Porto Palácio Congress Hotel & Spa a reference point in the city’s main avenue - the Avenida da Boavista - as a complement to such important institutions as the Serralves Foundation, with its Museum of Contemporary Art and the Casa da Música.
